Miodrag Perić is a Serbian sculptor based in Novi Sad.  He is renowned for his intriguing manipulation of materials and creation of unique forms that captivate and stimulate the imagination. Evident in his skilful and innovative use of natural wood, authentic leather, various metals, and intriguing animal remains, his artistry also lies in the profound narratives he weaves through his work, breathing new life into discarded materials that many might overlook. Each piece reflects his intense engagement with texture and design, pushing the boundaries of traditional sculpture and challenging our perceptions of what sculpture can be. Perić's remarkable pieces often invite viewers to traverse the complex and dynamic relationship between the organic and the manufactured, compelling us to challenge our preconceived notions about their inherent value and beauty.

He firmly believes that artists must decontextualise objects that were once considered status symbols for the middle classes, or which have become so commonplace that they are eventually discarded in favour of more technologically advanced items in today's fast-paced society. By sculpturally shaping these common household items and forgotten relics, he offers fresh and insightful perspectives, establishing strange yet thought-provoking relationships between them and diverse forms and materials. This intricate process challenges viewers' perceptions of the original objects' materiality and ontological status, inviting us to reconsider their significance and the multifaceted narratives they embody. Furthermore, his work urges us to reflect deeply on our own histories and our place in the contemporary artistic landscape. In a world where rapid technological change is constantly redefining our interactions with everyday objects, cultures, and practices, Perić's powerful work serves as a poignant reminder that beauty and value can be found in the most overlooked and seemingly trivial artefacts. His sculptures redefine objects and encourage dialogue about meaning, value, and the evolving nature of art.
