Geralyn Mulqueen

Geralyn Mulqueen, FRSA, is a regarded psychoanalytic psychotherapist and an artist. She has exhibited her artwork in various esteemed locations including Belfast, Berlin, Dubai, London, Paris, New York, Vienna, and a multitude of other venues across Ireland. Her works are not only celebrated by the public but also included in private collections in major cities such as NYC, Washington DC, Portugal, London, Ireland, Switzerland, and beyond. Her first solo exhibition in Belfast in 2016 marked a significant milestone, following an installation that took place in the Titanic Quarter, which drew considerable attention. In 2019, she successfully led a notable solo event at The MAC in Belfast and played a key role in representing Ireland in Dubai in 2020, showcasing her work to an international audience. Furthermore, she was a featured artist at the renowned 2019 Stendhal Festival, a reflection of her growing recognition in the art world. In 2024, she participated in two significant group exhibitions in Manhattan and held a special solo viewing in Belfast's Pearl Building, in addition to having her work exhibited locally in Lecale. Currently, she has her impressive works displayed at RSA House in both London and New York. Additionally, she has been recognized as a shortlisted finalist for the John Richardson Annual French Residency, which she is undertaking in association with Hambly & Hambly and the RUA 2025.

Geralyn's educational background is as distinguished as her professional achievements; she studied at QUB Belfast and UCD Dublin before being called to the Bar of Northern Ireland and Ireland. She has served in public office as a commissioner with the ICPC since 1997 and has been appointed to the Law Reform Committee for Northern Ireland, further showcasing her commitment to public service. Having initially worked as a barrister until the birth of her daughter in 2001, Geralyn made the pivotal decision to retrain, pursuing a master's degree in psychoanalytic psychotherapy through the University of East London in 2008. After her retraining, she has been in private practice since 2011, diligently working with patients from various backgrounds and cultures around the globe. Geralyn specializes in addressing severe disturbances, drawing on her extensive training and experience. She is also an active member of the UKCP and the EAP, which emphasizes her dedication to maintaining high professional standards in her field. In addition, since 2018, she has taken initiatives to curate and deliver ArtForTheSenses workshops, combining her passion for art with therapy. Recently, in 2025, she had the privilege of being a guest lecturer at UUJ in the School of Communications and Counselling Studies, where she shared her profound knowledge and insights with aspiring professionals.
