Bella Rune is a Swedish artist based in Stockholm. She has a unique vision and approach to art, breathing new life into artisanal and sculptural traditions. Textiles play a central role in her work, enabling her to explore the intricate relationship between bodies and architecture, as well as redefining the interaction between art and space. She has an innovative and experimental approach to space, challenging the boundaries between sculpture, textiles, and technology. This encourages viewers to reconsider their perceptions of art and functionality. Through her work, she invites viewers to enter a creative world that speaks to the essence of human experience and interaction, often prompting contemplation and reflection on their surroundings. Bella’s artistic philosophy emphasises a profound connection to the physical world, encouraging dialogue about the interplay between the tangible and the conceptual and making us question our interactions with art and the world at large. The materials she uses are carefully chosen to enhance the sensory experience of her installations, ensuring a deep and meaningful connection between viewer and artwork. The careful curation of her pieces creates an environment in which the boundaries of the audience’s experience are expanded, enabling them to immerse themselves fully in the artistic narrative she presents.

Rune studied at both Chelsea College of Arts in London and Beckmans School of Design in Stockholm. During her studies, she developed a keen interest in the interplay between performance and sculpture, creating a dialogue that transcends conventional artistic boundaries. She creates intricate sculptures that incorporate performative elements, experimenting with various materials and techniques. In her ongoing project, 'Konsekvensanalys' (Impact Analysis), she explores the intersection between physical reality and captivating virtual worlds augmented by technology. She examines how these realms can converge and influence one another in both subtle and overt ways. This exploration reflects her fascination with the fluidity of perception in our technology-driven society. Her work is held in the collections of several institutions, including Moderna Museet in Stockholm and Malmö Konstmuseum. She has also been showcased in exhibitions at the Munch Museum in Oslo, the Carl Eldh Studio Museum in Stockholm and the König Galerie in Berlin. Her unique perspective continues to leave audiences in awe and often sparks insightful conversations about the nature of art and its impact on our lives.
